About MOT Test Workshops

MOT test, or periodic vehicle inspection (PKK), is a mandatory vehicle inspection that ensures your car is in proper condition and does not pose a danger to you or other road users. The inspection is carried out at approved workshops throughout Norway.

To find your nearest workshop, you can use the filter above to search by city or postal code. All workshops in our database are approved by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to perform MOT tests.

What is Checked During MOT Test?

During the MOT test, the following components are checked:

  • Brakes and brake system
  • Steering and suspension
  • Visibility and lights
  • Axles, wheels, suspension and chassis
  • Environment (emissions and noise)
  • Body and other components

How Often Must I Have MOT Test?

For new passenger cars, the first MOT test must be completed after four years. Then the inspection must be completed every other year. For older vehicles, there may be different intervals. You can check when your vehicle needs MOT test by searching for the car's registration number on our homepage.
